1080i TV's

What happened to 1080i TV's we bought 2 Sony LCD's and were told that 1080i was better than 1080p. What happened to 1080i, I can only find 1080p TV's now? Thanks Steve

Hey Steve, 1080i were the first generation tv's that came out before 1080p were mainstream. In fact, you can also get 480p and 780p. Basically the (i) means you get an interlaced picture where alternate lines on the tv are created to generate a picture, where as the "p" progressive ones build the picture at the same time. Basically, all you need to know is that 1080p is the best HD picture you'll get right now and definitely worth buying.
