A really great telly!

My initial impressions at first switch on were not good - the picture was over-bright, grainy and colours were overblown. This was partly due to a low quality children's programme but by going into the menu and adjusting the picture setting from Dynamic to Normal also made a big difference. Off-air pictures from good digital broadcasts are sharp with well balanced colours - definately a 'WOW' factor when compared to our old, blurred 21" CRT. Viewing a DVD through HDMI is absolutely stunning and better than I had imagined. Viewing through RGB scart is good too and the old VCR has definately had it!
There are plenty of connection options with 2xHDMI, 3xScart (2 RGB), componant video, composite video and a PC input! The remote control is quite large and a bit unwieldy but feels substantial. The build quality of the TV also inspires confidence for a long life.
For the non-technical person the manual will probably need reading several times but it doesn't take long to sort out the basic stuff. Overall this is a great TV and I'm really impressed.
