Even a technophobe like me .... Author: carol_foster1221 was able to work Mr Shoesmith's hack to play multi region dvds. I found it easy to set up and it plays region 1 and 2 discs beautifully. Vcr also easy to use and record/playback very good quality. Extremely pleased with this for the money! Rating: 5_0

Great but beware:not multiregion... Author: N/A Good quality product. Great sound. will probably need to invest in speaker stands. Major drawback for me: not multiregion: it will cost you and extra £25 to hack it after a little bit of time on Google to find that type of services... Rating: 3_0

Very poor Author: I have had several of these, the first one arrived, plugged it in and nothing... I sent this back, and got a replacement. A good featuring machine Author: The design is so slim and sleeky. DVD +/- R Discs both format can be used for recording and Dual scarts and variety of connections in the back as well as in the front including i-Link. Region free code setting is so simple, press 7-7-0 thru remote and it has played all my DIVX discs... Rating: 5_0

Beware Author: glennridgett I too was really drawn to the compact case and attractive design of this natty little DVD recorder and bought from Amazon last March. Like others I too had to repeatedly re-boot the machine as it suffered constant crashes. Ellion came to the rescue and their in warranty... Rating: 1_0

does not dub dvd to vcr! Author: phil41733 not a bad player - BUT I got caught this unit only dubs from dvd to vcr not the other(useful) way round - which is fine if for some unknown reason you want to copy dvd's to tape! Rating: 3_0

Easy to use Author: bissgsy This recorder was not difficult to set up and having set it up it is a pleasure to use. With easy on screen directions, recording is quick and clear. Troublesome Author: bunnyhudson Rejects virtually as many DVD's as it accepts - all region specific, legitimate copies. Won't allow you to re-write DVD's - maybe my fault, could've missed something in the instructions? I find it easier to format disc on PC and then transfer back to machine. Rating: 3_0
