on 06/18/08Overall the Canon EOS 40D is a very good camera for the price tag ( £529 after rebate). Picture quality is better than 400D series... 6.5 fps is fast enough to start with. 3" LCD screen and Live view feature at an affordable price. My score is 95/100

I've been in the market for a new camera body since my 300D's processor fried itself. How does the 40D stack up for the price? Also, I really want to get into astrophotography as well (though I know nothing about astronomy -- so that's also new to me). Is the 40D any good for that?
