Author: torquedawg81Pros: Battery, quality, build, low light, capacity.
Cons: Expensive cards, no full-manual mode.

I've had no problems with it. The color and overall quality are great. The low light performance is better than any other point and shoot I've used (as well as some SLRs). The battery life is outstanding. It's sturdy, easy to hold, and compact. It's easy to use, yet offers a fair amount of more advanced options. Also, with a large card, the mid-range pixel count offers a rediculous amount of photo storage. I don't even come close to filling a fraction of my 2GB card before I wind up transfering it anyways. Also, the macro setting works well. I haven't used the FD feature much, but I probably will more now, since handing other people the camera to take the picture and having them not know how to focus.

Q & As

  • Going from 300D to 40D, good idea? How is it for astronomy photography?I've been in the market for a new camera body since my 300D's processor fried itself. How does the 40D stack up for the price? Also, I really want to get into astrophotography as well (though I know nothing about astronomy -- so that's also new to me). Is the 40D any good for that? Or should I maybe be scouring eBay for a use 20Da? from: Josh C. | 12 answers
