LED TV'S are still LCD TV'S but the back lighting is no longer ccl lights they are led lights which means they can be turn on and off with the picture giving you better blacks and brighter colours samsung make there led tv with edge led lighting which make the tv a lot thinner but sony have RGB led backlighting which gives great picture but still just as big as on old lcd tv
