When it states a tv is full HD.Does this mean it does not need a separate box to input the HD signal.

nope - it means it's HD compatible - you'll still need Freeview HD, Virgin Media, or Sky to watch HD channels.

Full HD Means 1080 Screen resolution. to get full HD you still require a HD Source such as a Blueray player, Freeview HD Box, Virgin Media HD, or Sky HD
