When babies breastfeed, they start with quick sucking to stimulate your milk let-down and flow. Then, when your milk has let-down, your baby draws the milk out with slower, deeper sucks. The Lansinoh Compact Single Breast Pump has 2 phases which simulates this natural rhythm - the let-down phase and the expression phase. During the let-down phase, the pumping style is faster, mimicking the short, rapid sucking your baby uses to start milk flow. The expression phase then copies the slower, deeper sucking of feeding. This phase also has 5 adjustable sucking levels that can be tailored for your comfort. When you tun on the pump, it starts in the let-down phase at level 3, and automatically switched to the expression phase after 2 minutes. You don't even have to press a button if you don't want to. However, you can also switch to expression phase at any point if your milk start flowing before the 2-minute transition. This pump also features an automatic power off if it is left unattended for more then 60 minutes.
